Psychotherapy

The work that happens between sessions matters as much as the hour itself.

A woman sitting in a chair engaging in conversation, with another person extending their hand towards her. The scene suggests a discussion or consultation setting, with papers and a glass of water on the table.

The Hunter Clinics Approach

Psychotherapy at Hunter Clinics isn't an add-on to medical treatment – it's a core pillar of wellness. Every patient begins with a comprehensive personality and clinical assessment that shapes not just what we treat, but how: how you process information, cope with stress, and respond to different therapeutic styles. From there, your therapist selects an evidence-based modality matched to your diagnosis, concerns, and goals.

Current Offerings include; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and integrated coaching in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills.

Emphasis on Integration

Because coordinated care is excellent care, your therapist, prescriber, and any other providers involved in your care will communicate regularly. If a medication adjustment changes how you're feeling, or if progress in session reveals something your psychiatrist should know, that information moves quickly and securely between your care team members.

High Engagement, High Expectations

We're candid with our patients: therapy works in proportion to what you put into it, both in session and in the days between. We expect our patients to “do the work,” including tracking symptoms, attending to homework, practicing skills, showing up honestly. In return, we commit to structure, rigor, and a treatment plan that's adjusted based on your measured progress.
